Are You Being Recruited?
Fact: The harsh reality is that only 1.98% of approximately 9 million North American student athletes are being actively recruited. Chances are very high you are not one of those few recruited, among whom only 2% actually attain a scholarship. Knowing where you stand is key to determining your next steps to becoming one of those 2%.
Who We Are
Varsity Street is a network of athletic scholarship advisors.
We help student athletes in all areas of minor sports to develop their skills and stay on path to a successful post-secondary future.
We provide a uniquely Canadian point of view, guiding prospective athletes down the very demanding road to a US Varsity scholarship, helping you to identify the schools best suited to your goals and abilities, and to navigate the decisions you must make to get you closer to that dream.
Varsity Street advisors take pride in their familiarity and compliance with the NCAA’s strict regulations, which ensure student athletes maintain amateur status.
What We Do
Varsity Street advisors have the knowledge and experience to tailor an agenda that fits your individual needs and goals. We help you make informed academic choices, connect you with coaches and trainers, and design personalized routines to keep you focused and on track.
If you are a higher-skilled player, male or female, in minor sports who wants to keep your Varsity options open, an experienced Varsity Street athletic advisor can play a significant role in your development both on and off the ice.
Stay On Point
Think education as well as a athletic career. Familiarize yourself with the course requirements for your province and get to know the SAT or ACT.
There are many ways you can inadvertently lose your amateur status. Stay up to date with the NCAA’s strict list of rules.
Have a plan
Have a carefully considered plan of attack. It’s never too early to get your grades up to snuff and start making a good impression.
Cast a Wide Net
Cast a wide net to as many schools as possible. Have at least 10 schools in your sights at all times. Know where you most want to go, but don’t narrow your scope too much.
Use an advisor
Make sure you only seek advice from a paid professional. You can be disqualified from NCAA consideration for obtaining free advice. Do not refer to your Varsity Street Advisor as an “Agent”.
The more familiar you are with the NCAA’s rules and methods, the easier it is to assess your status and assess what steps to take next. Know in detail the NCAA recruiting process and rules.
